Step 1
Keep your skin very clean- wash your face two or three times during the day with hot water and soap, rather than cold water. Avoid harsh soaps or cleansers that contain alcohol. After washing your face, apply a moisturizer that is oil free.
-
Step 2
Use drying soaps such as Ivory, Dial and Safeguard.
-
Step 3
Drink 6-8 glasses of water to keep your skin hydrated and to flush out any toxins. Reduce the amount of fat in your diet. Consume less or no fried foods and junk foods. Because of your intake of fried, greasy foods, the oil would come out on your face. Make wise food choices. Eat a lot green vegetables and fresh fruits.
-
Step 4
Use a clay or mud mask and leave on for 15-20 minutes at least three times a week. The darker brown the clay and mud mask is the better because it absorbs the oil.
-
Step 5
Choose an astrigent that contains acetone, which is known to remove oil from your skin. Look for products which contain alpha-hydroxy acids which make your skin smooth and less oily.
-
Step 6
Do a facial sauna with fresh or dried herbs two or three times a week.
