Things You'll Need:
- Glass containers that can be used for candles.
- Tissue paper in colors of green, blue, purple, and pink.
- Think white craft glue.
- Acrylic sealer
- Pillar Candle
- 1" sponge brush
- Decorative gems or rhinestones, scissors, wax paper and bowl.
-
Step 1
Preparation: Always wash and dry the candleholder. Next you will need to cut the tissue paper into very small pieces in many different shapes and sizes. Then lay all of them in a pile close to the candleholder that you are working on.
-
Step 2
Gluing: Put some water in to the craft glue until it is a milky consistency. You will need to put a piece of wax paper flat so it can be use as a gluing surface. Take one of the tissue paper that you have cut out already and lay it facedown on the wax paper, and put a thin layer of glue with your sponge brush.
-
Step 3
You will then start putting the paper on the outside of the candleholder. With this, you can make your own design by overlapping some of the tissue paper until you have covered the whole candleholder.
-
Step 4
Finishing: You will need to put paper around the upper part of the candleholder. You will need to put a coat of acrylic sealer on the candleholder. After you do this the first time, you will need to let it dry completely, then you need to put on another coat of the acrylic sealer. After that, you need to glue on the gems or rhinestones. Let it dry and then put your candle in your candleholder.
