If that seems too pricey to you, there's the old-fashioned way to get naming rights. Start raising roses, hand-pollinate them, collect the seeds and grow them to develop new colors, shapes and growing patterns. It can take years to get some that you think are worthy. Test their growth for several years to be sure they are hardy, and grow true in their color. It can take about ten years to get a new rose that you can be proud of.
