Homemade desserts are always rich and delicious. However, making everything from scratch is time consuming and takes great patience. There are ways to make delicious desserts that contain both store bought and homemade ingredients. No one will ever know unless you elect to tell him or her. There is nothing wrong with keeping a little secret.

  2. Step 2
Toffee, used as a final garnish.

First, my favorite is Chocolate Mousse. Normally what I do is I purchase 3 packages of instant Chocolate Mousse Mix and I sort of doctor it up a bit. I pour contents of all 3 packages of mix into a large mixing bowl. Next, instead of adding milk, which is standard directions, I replace the milk with heavy whipping cream about 2 cups per package of mix.

  3. Step 3
    Serving Bowl.

Next, I mix together with an electric mixer a total of about 5 minutes. The next step involves placing mousse mixture into a large glass-serving dish. As a final touch I add some heavy whipping cream on top and then add some shredded toffee. The final step is to chill the Chocolate Mousse for about 2 hours and then serve.

  4. Step 4
    Brandy.

    Brandy.

You may want to try adding 1/4 cup of Brandy to your original mix for some real flavor. This is something I will do on occasion. The Brandy just adds a richer flavor to the Chocolate.
