Becoming a better cook is not something that can happen overnight. But with time you can get better, here are a few ways to increase your skill.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Take a cooking class.
Taking a cooking class is a great way to become a better cook. Not only will you be learning first hand, but you will be working with others who are on the same level as you. That way everyone can learn together. If you already know how to cook well but would like to get better, you might want to look for a more advance cooking class.

  2. Step 2

Pick a certain dish to become better at.
By practicing on the same dish, you will be able to make it better each time until you have mastered it. Start out with something that is easier and work your way up while cooking. Some dishes can take many hours to make, so if you do not have time to finish the meal do not start it.

  3. Step 3

    Follow the directions.
Sometimes many of us want to add our on flare to dishes. But until you have learned how to prepare the dish properly, I wouldn't recommend it. You want to learn how to make the basic dish by following all the instructions and once you know what it is supposed to taste and look like, you can begin to change things. When you are done you might have even made a great dish better.
