1
Select the area of the wall on which you want to hang the deer head. In making your decision, keep in mind that the height and width of the antlers are likely larger than the deer head itself and must be considered when selecting an area. You don't want them to hit the ceiling or another wall.
-
2
Use a stud finder to find the nearest stud. Although a wall anchor and a screw might hold a deer head, it will be most sturdy if you place the screw directly into a stud.
-
-
3
Mark the location for your screw with a pencil.
-
4
Drill a hole where you made the pencil mark.
-
5
Screw the screw into the stud. Make sure to leave enough space between the head of the screw and the wall to hang the deer head.
-
6
Look at the back of the deer head to see what type of bracket the taxidermist used. Check to see how much of the screw needs to protrude from the wall to hang the head. Then lift the deer head so the screw is inside the bracket. Make sure the deer head is level and that it is snug against the wall.
