Step 1
Electricity- Most of our electricity is made from burning coal. If you learn how to save electricity in your every day life you can save the earth and your money. Turn out the lights and any appliances, televisions, computers, radios etc that you are not using. Also use the energy efficient light bulbs. You can get a 6 pack for about $10 and they last 3 times a long as a regular light bulb. This can save hundreds of dollars per year. Instead of using your clothes dryer, hang clothes out to dry. Put your air conditioner up to 78 or so. If it is 90 degrees outside it will still be more comfortable in your house. Use portable fans if you need to feel cooler.

Step 2
Reuse plastic-
The plastic bags that you get from Wal Mart or the grocery store make great trash bags for the small cans that are used in bath rooms etc. The plastic bags also work great as fill for planters. The plastic milk cartoons or soda bottles can be used for ice in the summer. Put them in the freezer with water to make ice for your cooler. They can also be used to plant little starter flowers or toys for your pet. -
Step 3
Aluminum- Cans can be saved and taken to a recycle place when you have a lot for a few dollars or you can use the recycle container that most Refuse companies will provide for you to have picked up on your regular trash day. Also I will reuse aluminum foil for warming rolls in the open.

Step 4
Paper=Trees=Rainforest
Try to use recycled paper whenever possible. If you own your a business or order products for a business try to get the recycled paper products. Also if you read the newspaper. These are great for cleaning windows. A little vinegar and water and newspaper makes a great window cleaner. You can also use the old newspaper for litter box liner. Or you can save some up if you do not own a pet and donate the old papers to your local humane society.
