Things You'll Need:
- Brush
- Heat protector spray
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
-
Step 1
Start by washing your hair with a shampoo of your choice. The shampoo is rinsed out, so don't over do it on price when picking one. Choose a really good conditioner though, it does remain on your hair and helps protect it.
-
Step 2
Find a good heat protector spray you like. This is especially important if you blow-dry, flat iron, or us a curing iron. Heat does the most damage.
-
Step 3
Keep hair wrapped up in a towel until it becomes damp. Never use a hair dryer on soaking wet hair. When brushing wet hair, start at the end, not the roots. A comb usually works better to help prevent breaking.
-
Step 4
Massage your scalp to increase blood flow. A healthy scalp grows healthy hair. Brush your hair with a thin bristle brush. This helps distribute natural oils though your hair.
-
Step 5
Use hairspray. Yes, this is one step that you may find surprising. Hairspray actually can protect your hair from humidity and damage, but be sure only to use enough to barely cover your hair, not a ton!

on 7/13/2009 The last tip was a surprise for me. I thought that hair spray would actually dry-out your hair.

on 4/29/2009 Hi AJ, Love Good Hair articles... That is exactly what landed me in moeling gigs with RLauren and HBoss! Great Hair, although I wear that sh*tkicker hat alot..lol, I also use a daily clarifier if I am not trying to protect hair color from coming off to soon. (Then after a few washes and an excellent rinse job!) I use the conditioner / moisterizer like "Humectrus" to keep the great hair from drying. (not too much or it gets limp) Love the article bru! 5*starz C'ya Carson!
