There are so many options available for decorating a girl's bedroom, but not as many choices when it comes to boy's rooms. This doesn't have to be the case however, as there hundreds of ways to decorate your son's room, many of which are creative and affordable. No matter what his interests are, you'll find bedroom wall decor that he'll love.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paint
  • Wall Coverings
  • Accessories
  1. Step 1

Try a Disney theme. Many young children love a certain Disney movie, with Toy Story and Cars among the most popular choices. For Toy Story fans, a cowboy theme, with horse-printed wall paper, scenes from the rodeo, and a cowboy hat hung on the wall will work well. For Cars fans, line his favorite toy cars along their own shelves, then use Cars-themed paper or decals to complete the look.

  2. Step 2

Create a jungle scene for animal lovers. Boys of all ages will love living in their very own jungle. You can use pre-made murals to create this look, or paint your own trees and animals on the walls. Hang stuffed birds and monkeys from the ceiling to complete the look.

  3. Step 3

Go for an under the sea theme. Paint walls blue and add colorful fish, sea creatures, and maybe even a shark. Install silvery paper on the ceiling to make your child feel like they are really underwater.

  4. Step 4

Decorate using an outer space theme. You can add glow in the dark stars to the ceiling or walls, or use a mural that displays the planets in our solar system. Make your own planets out of foam or paper mache and let your son paint them himself. Hang them from the ceiling to complete the look.

  5. Step 5

Use a sports decor for older kids. There are many sports-oriented wall papers, trims, and decals available, or you can hang framed pictures of your child's favorite players. Hang a framed jersey or calendar as a focal point, and use specialty shelving to hold your son's trophies or sports equipment.

  6. Step 6

Create a farm scene for young children. You can paint a tractor and big red barn on the wall. Add animal decals or pictures, or choose a simple pre-made mural.

  7. Step 7

Try chalkboard paint. It is applied just like regular paint, but creates a chalkboard surface over the wall that kids can write on and erase. This lets them change the look of their room to match their mood or current interests.
