How to Hook Up Your TV to Your Computer as a Second Monitor

Hooking up your tv to your computer to use as a second monitor is a great way to get added functionality to your setup.

Instructions

1. 
   HDMI cable

   The first thing to do is assess which ports you have available on your computer and TV. The best ones to use when connecting to a HDTV are the DVI or HDMI ports to ensure great quality. You can purchase cables from your local RadioShack or Best Buy.

2. Simply connect one end of the cable to your computer and the other end to your TV, and you're all set. Change the input on the television to match where the port is, and many computers will automatically extend or clone your desktop onto the TV.

   If it doesn't automatically show up, you can usually go to your computer manufacturer's website and obtain additional information and support for your specific model of computer. Enjoy your new setup!
