How to Disable The Right Click With Your Mouse On Your Desktop in Microsoft Windows

Everyone of us most likely has our nice personalized desktop arrangements just the way we like it so we know exactly how to find each folder with our awesome back ground as well. But we all know as well that it only takes one person to come around and add a folder or put a new picture of something on the background and completely wreck your set up. In this article you will learn how to disable the right click feature on the desktop so they can't easily add folders or go the properties.

   First, go and left click on the start button on the bottom left. See picture for exact area.

   Next you will want to click on the run feature located on this pop up on the bottom right. See picture for exact area.

   Next in the run pop up you will want to enter regedit and click ok. See picture for exact area.

   From here your registry editor will pop up where you will make the edit to disable the right click.

5. From in the editor you will to follow the path of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

   From here in the right panel you will want to right click and then hover over new and a side drop down will appear where you will click on DWORD Value. From here rename this new file as NoViewContextView. See the picture for a great showing of this.

   Once this is done right click on it and select modify and enter a value data of 1. See picture to show you how. You are all set now to restart your computer and your right click should now be disabled and your worries for easy changing should be over.

Tips & Warnings

• To reverse it you must go in and delete what you have created or change the value of the data box.
