How to Disinfect Your House

With all the worry about the Swine Flu, disinfecting your home seems like a good idea these days. Here are some of the best ways to get your house completely disinfected.

Things You'll Need:

• Lysol
• Lysol Wipes
• Alcohol
• Clorox Bleach
• Clean rags
• Bucket
• Mop

1. 
    
   Wash all towels, bedsheets, comforters, and dirty laudry you have in the house.

   Gather all the sheets, towels, and clothes and start the day out by washing everything in the entire house that can be washed and needs to be washed. Clothes in drawers and closets do not need to be washed, but they do need to be sprayed thoroughly with disinfectant spray.

   Empty, remove and spray all gabage cans in the house.

   Empty all garbage cans through out the entire house. Take the garbage outside and spray all containers with disinfectant spray before putting a new bag inside of them.

   Spray everything you possible can with disinfectant spray.

   Spray down all mattresses, blinds, doorknobs, sinks, computer keyboards, computer mouse, garbage can lids, toilet seats, and all dresser drawer handles with disinfectant spray.

   Pour 1/2 cup a bleach and run appliances through a cycle.

   Dishwashers, garbage disposals, toilets, tubs, sinks and coffee pots can all be cleaned by pouring a half of cup of bleach in each and allowing it to run through it's normal cycle. If you do have a coffee machine, be sure to rinse it out with water after using the bleach to clean it.

   Mop all hard wood and tiled floors.

   Mop all hardwood floors and tile floors with bleach and water. Once you have bleached the floor, be sure to buy a new mop sponge since the bleach will destroy the one you have used very quickly.

6. 
    
   Soak all utensils in a bleach/water solution.

   Last but not least, fill your kitchen sink up half way with water. Pour a half of cup of bleach inside of the water, and place all utensils inside for about 30 minutes. Rinse well, dry and return them to where they belong. Doing this will kill any bacteria on the utensils.

Tips & Warnings

• Always keep your hands washed or disinfected.
• Use products such as Lysol or Clorox for the most effectiveness.
