How to Make Your Own Cleaning Supplies

With the economy getting worse daily we are all looking for ways to pinch pennies and still have the things we need. We have all been forced to evaluate our spending and many have already realized that cleaning supplies use a lot of our budgets. Now days there is a specific cleaner for every household job, but $3.00 here and $5.00 there adds up to a lot of money over a years time. If you're one of the few people out there that has not realized this fact yet then before you read any further let's do some math: total amount spent monthly on cleaning supplies x 12 months = ??? Unbelievable isn't it? The good news is however, that you can still keep your home just as clean as before without spending all that money each month. With just a few in expensive ingredients you can tackle almost any job when it comes to cleaning your home.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Basic All Purpose Cleaner - Spray bottle filled with equal parts water and vinegar.

  2. Step 2

    Furniture Polish - 1/4 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 cups warm water.

  3. Step 3

    Oven Cleaner - Sprinkle baked on food with salt. Set oven safe dish of vinegar in oven and turn on low for 20-30 minutes. Wipe clean.

  4. Step 4

    Laundry Stain Remover - Equal parts water and vinegar applied to stain. Add 1/4 cup undiluted vinegar to final rinse for cleaner clothes.

  5. Step 5

    Floor Cleaner - Spray on undiluted vinegar then sprinkle with baking soda. Rinse clean with water or use a mixture of 3 drops Dawn, 1/3 cup vinegar, 1/3 cup alcohol and 1.3 cup water.

  6. Step 6

    Air Freshener - Spray a solution of 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. vinegar and i cup water.

  7. Step 7

    Glass Cleaner - 1/2 cup ammonia, 1 cup vinegar and 2 tbl cornstarch.

  8. Step 8

    Fabric Refresher - Equal parts vinegar and water.

  9. Step 9

    Carpet Cleaner - Brush with a solution of 1 cup vinegar per gallon of water. To remove stains make a paste with 2 tbl vinegar and 1/4 cup salt. Rub in and let dry. Vacuum next day.

  10. Step 10

    Bathroom Cleaner - Spray bottle of undiluted vinegar. It can be used to remove mildew and soap scum in the shower as well.
