How to Keep Spiders Out of Your House
Being afraid of spiders is one of the most common phobia in the world. If you share this phobia, avoiding contact with spiders is probably a good idea. Keeping every single spider out of your house is near impossible, although keeping their populations minimal is doable. But, you should remember that some spiders are beneficial, eating other bugs that you may want around even less.

Install window grates with netting and ensuring that your doors are flush to the ground. Spiders only need a few millimeters to get into your home, and they will often make use of an open window or simply walk under a door.

2
Fill in any gaps that you have in your walls with either cement or gap filler. If they are right at the edges of the room, then silicone can also be used. This will mean that any spiders within the walls will have trouble getting inside the house itself.

If you have wall cavities, then they are often filled with spiders and other bugs. Getting cavity insulation will put a stop to this, although it is expensive.

4
Often pets such as cats and dogs will provide a natural pest control service. Cats especially seem to find spiders fascinating.

5
Reducing clutter and dark secluded spaces is another easy way to reduce spider concentrations. If there is a gap underneath furniture, then fill it. Similarly, making an area more brightly lit can discourage spiders from setting up home there.

In rooms with high ceilings or exposed roofing, such as cellars or garages, spiders can often run rampant. To stop them getting up to the rafters as easily, painting a thick line of metallic gloss paint can be effective. Some kinds of paint are too slippery for spiders to walk over and will prevent them from passing in a complete circle.
