How to Make a Georgia Peach Pound Cake

Georgia is called the Peach State, so of course we all know how to use them in oh so many wonderful recipes. I'm sure this one for Peach Pound Cake, will delight everyone and get you many raves.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup real butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 salt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups diced fresh peaches
  • Confectioners sugar optional
  1. Step 1

    Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour tube pan.
    In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, {hint here: have the eggs at room temperature}. one at a time. Beat well after adding each egg. Beat in vanilla extract. Set aside.

    Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to the first mixture and add the sour cream alittle at a time, blending well after each addition.
    Fold in the Georgia Peaches.

  3. Step 3

    Pour into prepared tube pan. Bake in oven for 60 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before removing from baking pan, invent to cake plate. Cool well. Dust with Confectioners Sugar, if desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • Can use bundt pan.
  • Can use loaf pans, adjust cooking time to about 30 or 35 minutes for smaller pans
  • Don't over cook.
