No matter how many people you invite to your Roaring 20's party, set it up with a few friends to claim they can't attend the party. These people will actually be there, later... in the police raid. Ask each guest to dress in typical 20's attire. The costumes don't have to be costly. Look to the thrift stores for bead strands. And fringed shawls can be attached around the hip over a black strapless dress. And men dressed in all black with a gangster type hat is good for the 20's mood.

Keep the food simple, so you can enjoy the party. Munchies, sandwiches cut into quarters and a crock pot or two with meatballs, cocktail wieners and such can all be prepared ahead of time. Fill a metal tub with ice and drinks. Set up a few card tables for friendly Black Jack gambling.

Remember this is the Roaring 20's, so be sure to have a gun check at the door before allowing any of your guests to enter:) Jazz music should fill the air. The "Chicago" CD from the Broadway hit will put your guests in the party mood.

Okay, when people begin eating, drinking and gambling, your friends who "couldn't make it" show up. These cops barge in and go right for the gamblers! Maybe if you offer them a cold drink and a plate of food they'll leave your friends alone... maybe
