These instructions should help you tell the American Paint Horse and the Pinto apart from one another.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • nothing but yourself
  1. Step 1

One of the first things you should look at is the shape and size of the head. The American Paint Horse has a relatively small head, with slim cheek bones and elegant eyes. While, the pinto has a slightly larger head and wider cheek bones.

  2. Step 2

Next you should look at the size of the body. The Pinto tends to be more muscular than the Paint. It's stomach is a little more wide as well. The Paint is also muscular, but but not as bulky as the Pinto. The Paint seems to be a slim fast horse.

  3. Step 3

Finally, you should look at the the way the horse runs. The Paint has great conformation which makes it fast and can make rounds very quickly. The Pinto can do the same but not as graceful and quick. In all, both horses are amazing!
