Things You'll Need:
- Utensils
- Plates
- Napkins
-
Step 1
Starting Amount of SweetsMentally divide the portion of sweets into fourths. Try to determine how much of the food to take away that would equal approximately one fourth (1/4) or 25 percent (%) of the total amount.
-
Step 2
Fewer Calories Yet Still SatisfyingBegin removing the food from your plate in small increments until the perceived correct amount is gone. Either put it back into a container or throw it away. If you are in a restaurant, ask for a to go box and then ask them to remove it or to throw it away or wrap it in a napkin and put to the side.
-
Step 3
A Little Less Cake Is More Than EnoughUse this procedure with all sweets including sweet drinks, candies, pastries, puddings, birthday cake and ice cream. The number of calories saved will be close to if not more than 25 percent which is a significant amount and will contribute to weight loss as well as lowered blood pressure and lowered cholesterol.
-
Step 4
75 Percent of Sweets Is Still A Yummy SweetGive your mind and body time to realize that it is not suffering by giving it less than the whole amount started with and no matter how much is started with, there is room for less without much sacrifice or feeling deprived.
