Step 1
Just like shopping at the grocery store, your timing must be right or you may end of buying the wrong shoe. You are told never to shop at the grocery store while you are hungry. More often than not, you may spend more because of the hunger even though you circle the perimeters to get just the good foods.

Step 2
In the same line of thinking, when shopping for running shoes, make sure that your timing is right. Shop at the end of the day for your running shoes because the most people feet swells at the end of the day. By shopping at the end of the day, you will be purchasing shoes that will fit in the morning, evening and night. The shoes may fit you in the morning but by the end of the evening you feet would have gotten larger and the running shoes will no longer fit. Purchase your shoes at the end of the day and the shoes will be fit because you are fitting your feet when it is fuller. The difference in the shoe size can be as much as half a size.

Step 3
A good shoe fit for the running shoe is that your big toe should be a thumbs length from the end of the shoe. You should be able to wiggle your toes without a feeling of crampness. To further test the wear ability and fit of the running shoes, jog slowly where you are buying the shoe to test the movement of your heel. Your heels should not be moving freely in your running shoes or slip out of the shoes.
