Brittle and split nails are a common problem for many people, but are not that hard to treat. Below are some tips to help prevent brittle and split nails, and help to cure brittle and split nails. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Whenever using harsh soaps and cleaners, be sure to wear gloves. If you don't use disposable gloves, be sure to turn them inside out and clean them weekly.

    • 2

If you have suffered long term from unhealthy nails, it is mostly due to a lack of proper vitamins. Try taking a vitamin blend or supplement made specifically for healthier nails.

    • 3

When using soaps and detergents without gloves, always opt for organic and natural based cleaners. If you use dish detergent, buy a type that is made specifically for those with sensitive skin. However, I still suggest wearing gloves when possible.

    • 4

Try to avoid using hot water when cleaning if you're not wearing gloves. Also don't use hot water when washing hands or bathing. Hot water can cause damage to the nails.

    • 5

Apply cuticle and nail oil daily. Or just use a hand cream or lotion and massage it into the nails daily.
