Point your browser to Ping.fm and click on the Signup link at the top of the website. Fill out the registration form with your E-Mail and desired password and sign up.

~Add Networks~
The image shown here is where you'll arrive after signing up for an account. Find all the blogs and networks you would like to update and add them to your account.

~Ping It!~
After you've added your blogs and social networks to your account click the link to go to your Dashboard. From here you can update all of them with a single post. Just type the message you want and click Ping it!

~Mobile Pinging~
Ping.fm also has options for the really impatient people who can't wait to get to a computer to make an update -- You can update your blogs and social networks with text messages from your cell phone. I don't have any firsthand experience with this but I've heard great success stories from many bloggers.

SocialPoster.com is another website that offers a similar service.
Some blogs and social networks may take a little time for your update to appear. I've experienced this a couple times, but I was just patient and it did end up showing up later.
