Gather up some bottles and put dried, fresh, or fake flowers in them.

A nice arrangement of 3 to 5 blue or green bottles in a table center looks nice.

Blue bottles with white or pink flowers is a nice combination.
Green bottles with white or yellow flowers looks attractive.
Clear bottles with red, yellow, pink, or orange flowers look fantastic.

  2. Step 2

Consider placing a short candle in the middle of the circle of bottles.

When you light the candle, it will give a neat colorful glow. Bottles will different texture will reflect and disperse the light differently.

Clear bottles can also work well because they are easy to paint or decorate with spray paint, acrylic paint, or stickers.

Simple flowers, hearts, or patterns can be applied to them.

  4. Step 4

If the bottle or another neat shaped container that can hold water with flowers has too much writing on it, spray paint the entire bottle one or two nice colors that match the Mother's Day decorations.

Then you can also paint designs or put stickers on the spray painted bottles. Once dry, add flowers.

  5. Step 5

An additional way to dress the display up if you use clear bottles is to add colored water, colored sand, plain sand, or rocks to the inside of the bottle.

You can still place dried, fresh, or fake flowers in the bottles that are filled with water, colored water, sand, or rocks.

  6. Step 6

You can also search for neat bottles or vases at local thrift stores who support good causes and yards sales as people clean out their items.

Making a display of a bottle or vase with a flower and a nice statue is cute too. Expect to pay $4 or less when you shop in the thrift stores or at yard sales.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be creative.
  • Allow the kids to decorate, paint, use stickers, and have fun with it.
  • You can also paint just the inside of the bottle by adding some paint and water in the inside, capping it, and shaking it.
  • If you spray paint the bottles, you will need to spray them outside. Apply the spray paint in even thin strokes allowing it to dry between applications if needed.
  • If you allow kids to paint or decorate, it is a good idea to spread some newspaper down to cover the area they are working in.

on 4/30/2009 Thanks for the kind comments on How to Find Mother's Day Table Centerpieces for CHEAP or FREE. My daughter likes to paint things so I try to do these crafts for her. We like saving money, recycling, etc. We make our own bread, laundry detergent, etc. That saves money so we don't have to make as much. God bless.
