      Call Time Warner Cable

Call Time Warner. To lower your Time Warner Cable bill, first you'll have to get a sales representative on the phone. Tell them you are interested in hearing about any promotions they currently have, and if possible would like to lower your monthly bill. You'd be surprised what you can get just by asking! Usually, the reps have the authority to lower or change your service in any way they deem appropriate. They are salesmen too, so they not only want you to add or change your existing service, but they want to keep you as a long term Time Warner Cable customer, so they will do whatever possible to keep you on board.

To find a sales toll free number, just type in Time Warner Cable in Google and the first few links will give you phone numbers for customer service.

      Ask About Promotions

Ask About Promotions. The first thing you can ask the sales associate is if they have any promotions going on. Not long ago, Time Warner was running a free DVR for 6 months promotion to anyone who called and asked for it. All you had to do was call!

      Ask About the

Tweak Your Existing Service. Sometimes your cable plan might just need a makeover. You can cancel services your not using, bundle together some other services, etc. A good example of an additional service is a "2nd DVR box fee."

Ask about the "All The Best" Package. Time Warner Cable has a great promotion for anyone who has cable, Road Runner high speed internet, and digital phone service. If you bundle these three, you can save $10-25 per month!

      Mention the Competition

Mention a Competitor. I recently called Verizon FiOS service to see what kind of quote they could give me for my current service at Time Warner. I later called Time Warner and told them I was considering switching to Verizon because they were offering a better deal. Well Time Warner not only lowered my monthly bill by $15, but they also got rid of a monthly "service" fee of $6 and gave me free Showtime for a month! Sales associates want to do everything they can to keep you as a customer and beat the competition's prices. Get a quote from another provider such as AT&T, Verizon FiOS, or Direct TV. Tell Time Warner Cable you were given a much better deal at one of the competitors. Usually, they will lower your current monthly bill to match this, or sometimes beat it. Time Warner will do anything they can to keep you as a long term customer and just hearing the thought of you switching makes them nervous.

Ask About Obscure Fees. Find out what you are being charged for and if it's really necessary. Sometimes the cable companies will charge an "HD converter box fee" or "second DVR box fee." Ask yourself if you're really using the additional services. If not, you can go ahead and delete them off your plan. Sometimes the sales rep will also take the charge off your bill but let you keep the service, just by asking.

Maybe it's Time for a Switch?

Switch Providers. In the end, If you're still not able to lower your bill with the Time Warner Cable rep, you can always switch providers. Remember that quote you were given by another company in step 4? Maybe you could take them up on the offer. However if you consider switching, take in mind installation charges, new service fees or any other charges that might come up with the new provider. If your only going to be saving a couple bucks each month with the new provider, it might be worth the peace of mind to just stay with Time Warner. Good luck.
