Pandora Radio

Pandora Radio is a great place to stream music to listen on your PC or Mac. I use it to get variety and new ideas for new music. I'll explain how it works.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First you have to set up an account with Pandora Radio. They will ask for basic info like email address, username, and password. From my experience, they do not SPAM their members.

  2. Step 2

Once setup, select "Create a New Station...".

  3. Step 3

This will prompt you to enter a song or artist that you wish to make into a "station". The way Pandora Radio creates a station is by looking for artists/songs that have a similar rhythm to the artist/song you chose.

  4. Step 4

In my case, I chose "Explosions in the Sky", a atmospheric instrumental band. After choosing an artist, Pandora Radio will start playing a song from that artist immediately.

  5. Step 5

With every artist, you can also diversify the entry by choosing "Add Variety". This will allow Pandora Radio to search for artists similar to the one you originally entered.

  6. Step 6

The Quickmix feature allows you to play music from all of your featured stations at once. It is the "mix" feature on Pandora Radio.

  7. Step 7

This is basically how to use Pandora Radio. However, there are other features in Pandora Radio that you may find useful like: Genre Stations, Mobile and Home, and Video Series.

Tips & Warnings
  • Enjoy Pandora Radio!
  • If you try to skip songs to many times, it will stop you. Because the application is using copyrighted material, you have to listen all the way through. However, you can change stations as much as you please.
