Getting fit for summer, or anytime for that matter, deals not only in the physical, but the mental aspect as well. Getting clarity on what you really want is key to setting your mind to achieving what you want in life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quiet place to rest
  • Pillow
  • Zen soundtrack, small soothing fountain (optional)
  1. Step 1

When you first begin to Meditate it is important not to expect universal clarity your first try. Set a specific amount of time to meditate and stick with it no matter what. Try setting a small amount of time such as 15 minutes.

  2. Step 2

Try and find a comfy sitting position that doesn't cause strain on your body and slowly elongate your spine. It is not necessary to go into the common "Oommm" meditation position! Find something comfy for you.

  3. Step 3

To begin your meditation period breath in through your nose and out your mouth in slow deep breaths. You can also mentally count your breaths to gain a calm.

  4. Step 4

Consciensly relax your body starting from the top of your head down to your toes. You can tell your brain to relax your arm and then focus on sending the tension out your exhaling breath.

  5. Step 5

After you are fully relaxed you may do any one of the following "centering" activities. Try and reflect on something powerful such an African Savannah where a pride of lions are resting.

Another activity is repeating a meaningful mantra. Some powerful Mantra words could be "Happiness", "love", and "success". If you plan on exercising after your period of Meditation try repeating the word "energy" to give you an extra boost during your exercise routine.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try not to expect too much too soon or you will be dissapointed and chances are you wont continue.
