make 3D pictures (red-blue anaglyph)

In this article i will show you how to create 3D pictures (photos) using Adobe Photoshop. The pictures that you will make will be in red-blue anaglyph, that means that you can see them only with red-blue glasses. This article is based on my video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hlAND8WHqQ

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A digital camera
  • Adobe Photoshop (version 7.0 or higher)
  • Red-blue glasses (in order to see the pictures)
  1. Step 1

Capture 2 photos with your digital camera, the first one from your right eye view and the second one from your left eye view.

  2. Step 2

Open Adobe Photoshop. Then open your 2 photos.

  3. Step 3

Place the photo from your right eye view on the other photo. (use the Move Tool[v])

  4. Step 4

You can close the window with the photo from the right eye view if you want. Now go to the Channel window (should be on the right bottom of your screen) and press "red" option (or you can press Ctrl+1). Your picture now should be in white and black.

  5. Step 5

Now go Image->Apply Image (on the top of your screen)

  6. Step 6

In the box that appeared change the Layer option from Merged to Background, the Channel option from Red to RGB and the Blending option from Multiply to Normal and press OK.

  7. Step 7

Now go again to the Channel window and press the RGB option (or press Ctrl+~) Your picture is ready, with your red-blue glasses you can see the illusion of the 3 dimensions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try to capture pictures with of landscape and portraits, they are really amazing.
  • Be careful that the 2 photos are almost identical, or else your picture may become blurry. So hold your hands steady on both photos and tell everybody on the picture to hold still during those 2 shots.
