Toxoplasmosis is a threat to pregnant woman. This disease can cause serious complications to a fetus. This is why precautions must be taken when a woman expecting. Cats can get this parasite from eating rodents and pass it through their feces.
First thing is for all the cat owners to calm down, there is no reason to give the cat up. Just some precautions to protect your fetus.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Most importantly never change the littler box. Have someone else do it... husband, mother, father or neighbor. If you must change the litter box do it every single day. It takes at least 24 hours for the parasite eggs to become active. Wash your hands immediately.

  2. Step 2

After touching a cat or items that might have come in contact with the cat wash your hands thoroughly.

  3. Step 3

Do not pet strange or stray cats no matter how cute and irresistible they seem.

  4. Step 4

Wear gloves while doing any activity outside that might be a possible kitty porta potty such as loose dirt, flower beds, gardens, potted plants and sand boxes.

  5. Step 5

Because some other animals can pick up this parasite by eating from contaminated grass all raw meat should be cooked thoroughly. Lamb and pork are the most likely to have Toxoplasma. Wash hands immediately after handling raw meat.
