Creatively Support Your Deployed Soldier

Here are some fun and creative ways to brighten your soldiers day!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make a personalized calendar. Be sure to fill it with as many photos of the family as possible. Write important dates in so your soldier won't forget a thing!

  2. Step 2

Keep an "I thought of you" journal. For one week, keep a notepad and pen handy. Whenever you think of your loved one, write your thought down along with date and time. Decorate your journal, and send it over to them to show them just how much time you spend thinking about them.

  3. Step 3

Grab some crayons and turn the kids loose. Let them color not only pictures for your loved one, but have them decorate the inside of the shipping box as well.

  4. Step 4

Help your child (or do it yourself) and make a story book of something fun you did that day. Draw funny pictures on different papers, add captions, and staple or tie the pages together.

  5. Step 5

Send your loved one an envelope for each day of the week. Fill the envelopes with a joke of the day, or loving thought. Tell them to open it when they wake up, so it can brighten their day from the start.

  6. Step 6

If your loved one is a man (with a sense of humor), send him a letter in a hot pink envelope decorated with sparkles. His fellow soldiers will get a tremendous laugh and tease him for months!
