If you are looking for great antique picture frames you might be having a hard time. Today, some antique picture frames are cheaply made and don't resemble real antiques. But there are still some companies that make really nice antique frames you just have to know where to look.

  1. Step 1

    The best antique picture frames come from Sixtrees and other great companies. A few internet companies sell these frames, so search at places like Photoframesplus.com and start in the right place.

  2. Step 2

    Design or refurbish your own. You can design or refurbish you own antique picture frames. You need to start with an existing antique frame and have some knowledge of woodworking to do this and have a few afternoons to spare. You'll end up with a better frame however.

  3. Step 3

    Check the local antique store for a few real antique frames. These stores always have some lying around, and in some cases they may be willing to haggle over the price of their antique frames.

  4. Step 4

    Thrift stores also have a a lot of antique picture frames whether they know it or not. People will dump loads of stuff at these stores and not know they had a nice antique frame in the pile.
