Things You'll Need:
- Internet
- Friends
- Newspaper
-
Step 1
Ok, so you are ready to buy or sale. Call someone, anyone. Odds are that your friend or relative has bought or sold a house and knows someone to recommend.
-
Step 2
Read the newspaper. Realtors advertise in the newspaper all of the time. You can look and see who is excited about trying to work for you. After all, a realtor is an employee of yours. Remember, if they are in a Limited Consensual Dual Agency agreement or acting as a transaction broker, they do not work for you! There must be a single agency agreement established either as a buyers or sellers agent.
-
Step 3
Visit the National Association of Realtors website. Make sure the person you are considering hiring is a Realtor. They have benefits and access to listings that non-members do not have.
-
Step 4
Interview potential agents. You have the right to set up meetings before you decide who you would like to work with.
