Nevada was one of the first states to allow medical marijuana, but it is necessary to have one of several specific conditions to qualify for a medical marijuana prescription. Below are the current ways to qualify for medical marijuana in the state of Nevada.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

AIDS: Patients that have been diagnosed with AIDS qualify for a marijuana prescription. Currently patients with HIV do not qualify, but if they suffer from severe symptoms they may meet the qualifications.

  2. Step 2

Patients that have been diagnosed with cancer may qualify for medical marijuana. There are several factors that are involved in the doctors decision on whether a patient with cancer would benefit from medical marijuana. This should be discussed with your doctor to find out if you pre qualify.

  3. Step 3

Patients with Glaucoma qualify, due to the fact that marijuana has been proven to help relieve some of the pressure.

  4. Step 4

Patients that suffer from cachexia, severe muscle spasms, severe pain or seizures can qualify for medical marijuana.

  5. Step 5

Patients that suffer from what is considered to be a chronic or debilitating illness qualify for medical marijuana. Many illnesses are not currently listed as chronic or debilitating in Nevada, but doctors can petition on behalf of the patient if they believe their condition should qualify.
