Things You'll Need:
- Baking soda
- Exfoliating soap
-
Step 1
Exfoliate. This is key in removing unwanted tanning lotion. Use an exfoliating body wash to remove much of the unwanted tan. By exfoliating, you are actually removing dead skin, and thus removing the top layer of your tanning lotion.
-
Step 2
Baking soda. Here is great way of removing just spots of sunless tanning lotion. Maybe you want to keep your tan but remove streaks of tanning lotion; you can do this by scrubbing some baking soda on wet skin. Clean skin completely when finished with the baking soda scrub.
-
Step 3
Pumice stone or exfoliating soap. Another way to rub off that sunless tan is by gently exfoliating skin with a slightly abrasive soap or pumice stone. Rub gently to prevent any irritation.
-
Step 4
Give it time. If you find that these other methods are too irritating on your skin, wait a few days for the tan to fade. Wash and exfoliate frequently. If the streak is on your leg, wear pants, if it’s on your arms, wear a cute jacket or disguise with some make-up concealer. There are ways to disguise a bad sunless tan while waiting for it to fade.
-
Step 5
Do it perfectly the first time. Rather than trying to remove sunless tanning lotion when your tan goes bad, prevent it from happening. Read the article in the resource section below for how to get a perfect sunless tan.
