Things You'll Need:
- Ibuprofen
- A bit of bravery
-
Step 1
Just breathe! If you psych yourself up too much you won't go through with it. Just realize that it can't hurt that much if the FDA has approved it to be done on most any street corner. Do remember that beauty is pain though!
-
Step 2
Take a shower the day of your appointment. Make sure to shave the area that you are having lasered. Any hair you don't want to grow anymore you should shave.
-
Step 3
Don't compare your experience to anyone else's. Everyone has a different threshold of pain. If you go researching too much about the pain of the procedure you will drive yourself nuts thinking about it. Weigh the benefits of being hairless!
-
Step 4
Don't back out! It really doesn't hurt much, if you have ever had anything waxed, especially bikini area, it's not even as bad as that.
-
Step 5
Take ibuprofen and hour before your appointment. This will help with the swelling and ease pain, and your nerves.
-
Step 6
Discuss with your laser tech about your worries, she should be able to comfort you. Come prepared with a few conversation topics or your ipod to keep your mind off of the appointment.
-
Step 7
Enjoy being hairless!
