The day of May 5th is a day mainly celebrated in Puebla in Mexico, according to Wikipedia it is the day in which in 1862 in the battle of Puebla under the guidance of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin, defeated the French army. This day in Houston is widely celebrated due to the high Mexican influences, and there are parades and celebrations all over town in clubs, bars and restaurants.

  1. Step 1

    If you have children, the Houston Museum of Children is actually a fun place to bring them on this day where the children can play "papel picado" which is a traditional Mexican style crafting.

  2. Step 2

    Café Adobe is also a great place to go and enjoy the event while eating Tex-Mex food and enjoying one of their different flavors margaritas like the mango, guava, peach, raspberry, blue Curacao, sangria or strawberry frozen and delicious.

  3. Step 3

    And if you want to do something different then head out to the Trader's village at 7979 North Elderidge where you can enjoy cinco de Mayo celebrations with live music, food, drinks, community exhibits, games and activities for children as wells.

  4. Step 4

    You can spend the evening at Molina's, and one of the locations is downtown, where you can enjoy their frozen margaritas and prize giveaways during the period between May 2nd and May 5th.
