CHECK the spelling of the URL. Some imposter sites misspell Annual Credit Report hoping you don't notice.

SOME sites will redirect you to other sites that will try to sell you products, services and/or collect your personal information.

SOME sites use the phrase "free report" in their URL. Although they use "free report" in the URL, they will actually lure you into signing up for a free trial period. If you don't cancel, they will charge your credit card.

Step 5
SOME sites mention "free credit scores" or "free credit monitoring." However, the Federal Trade Commission's authorized free credit report program does not offer such services.
