Do your picky eating kids want nothing but sugar filled candy and softdrinks for snacks? Find an alternative to get them on the track to healthy snacking.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • green/purple grapes
  • apples
  • oranges
  1. Step 1

Do your kids always complain about everything you try to give them unless it is candy? Green grapes are always a great snack on a hot summer day. They are even better frozen. Buy a pack of any type of grapes you choose, throw them in the freezer for a few hours to get hard and chilled. Snack away!

  2. Step 2

Get a bag of oranges, slice them up and put them into a freezer bag. Freeze the oranges for a few hours and when your kids are wanting a little snack, pull them out. They are easy for little fingers to hold, cold to cool you off in the heat and they still have a lot of the orange juice in them that is healthy for your child to be drinking.

  3. Step 3

Apples are a great treat with a little peanut butter on the side. You can slice the apples into circles. Slicing straight down the apple instead of quarters. When you are done slicing a few apples, place peanut butter on one side of an apple slice and lay another slice over it. It is a refreshing peanut butter and apple snack for your little ones tummy.
These are some great ways to make the healthy snacks a little different to present to your picky eaters.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your child has a peanut allergy, forgo the last snack idea. Maybe use light whipped cream instead.
