Things You'll Need:
- Bananas
- Knife
- Nonstick Cookie Sheet or Cookie Sheet covered in Waxed Paper
- Freezer Bag
- Permanent Marker (optional)
-
Step 1
Before you get started, make sure your cookie sheet will fit in your freezer. If so, continue with Step 2. If not, choose a smaller flat dish and then continue with Step 2.
-
Step 2
Peel your bananas and use the knife to slice them into one half inch thick slices. We normally use about 12 slices to equal one banana, but count one that you cut to see how many slices equal a whole banana. You may want to write this on the freezer bag with a permanent marker.
-
Step 3
Lay the slices on the cookie sheet in a single layer.
It doesn't matter if the slices touch each other. -
Step 4
When you've arranged all the slices, place the entire cookie sheet into the freezer for 1-2 hours.
-
Step 5
Remove the cookie sheet from the freezer. Quickly remove the frozen banana slices and place them into the freezer bag. It works best if you push on the side of the slices to slide them as opposed to trying to lift them straight up.
-
Step 6
Place the freezer bag full of frozen banana slices back into the fridge.
-
Step 7
Use these banana slices in all of your favorite recipes. Simply take out the amount you need. Let the banana slices thaw for recipes like bread. Leave them frozen to make cold treats like Green Smoothies and Peanut Butter Banana Smoothies.
