Wireless Internet providers have connections available at many locations from fast food restaurants to hotels. Connecting to a provider is simple and often free. As long as you have a wireless card in your computer, you can connect to a provider in a few minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure your computer is on and that your wireless card is connected and turned on.

  2. Step 2

Go to the Network Connections Window. Click "Refresh Network List" or "Show All Connections."

  3. Step 3

Look for the appropriate wireless Internet provider and select "Connect." You may get a message that it is not secure. If this is the connection you want, choose "Connect Anyway."

  4. Step 4

Open Internet Explorer or another Web browser. Connect to a Web page. If you are required to log in, enter your username and password. You will then be connected to the provider and the Internet.
