How to Connect to a Wireless Provider

Wireless Internet providers have connections available at many locations from fast food restaurants to hotels. Connecting to a provider is simple and often free. As long as you have a wireless card in your computer, you can connect to a provider in a few minutes.

Instructions

1. Make sure your computer is on and that your wireless card is connected and turned on.

2. Go to the Network Connections Window. Click "Refresh Network List" or "Show All Connections."

3. Look for the appropriate wireless Internet provider and select "Connect." You may get a message that it is not secure. If this is the connection you want, choose "Connect Anyway."

4. Open Internet Explorer or another Web browser. Connect to a Web page. If you are required to log in, enter your username and password. You will then be connected to the provider and the Internet.
