How to Make Free Face Masks
Face masks have wonderful benefits for the skin, from exfoliating skin and rejuvenating skin cells to tightening the skin an minimizing the appearance of pores. They are very popular spa treatments, and there are many home face masks available on the market. However, while they benefit your skin, they often take a toll on your pocketbook. There is another alternative to the expensive face masks and that is making them for free with items that you already have in your house. With only a few key ingredients, you can make a face mask that gives you the same benefits as the expensive ones. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Eggs
- Honey
- Olive oil
- Large makeup brush
- Oatmeal
- Food processor
- Glass bowl
- Milk
Instructions

Making Face Masks With Eggs and Honey

Mix 1 egg, 1 tbsp. of olive oil and 1 tbsp. of honey. Whip all ingredients well.

Dip the makeup brush in the mixture, cover your face evenly and leave on for 20 minutes.

Making Face Masks With Honey and Oatmeal

Grind ½ cup of oatmeal in a food processor by setting it on "Pulse" for 20 seconds. Transfer to a glass bowl.

Add 1 tbsp. of honey and 2 tbsp. of milk to the ground oatmeal and mix well.

Apply the mixture evenly to your face and leave on skin for 30 minutes.

Rinse with lukewarm water, using circular motions with your fingertips as you do. This helps the ground oatmeal exfoliate your skin as it is being rinsed, giving it even more of a glow.

Do a final rinse with cold water.

Tips & Warnings
Always avoid the eye area when applying a face mask. Experiment with your own face mask recipes. Milk, avocado and honey are wonderful ingredients for moisturizing, while eggs are good drying agents. Oatmeal is a good binder and exfoliate.
Do not apply face masks more than once a week, as this can actually have a negative effect on your complexion.
