How to Identify Motherboard Drivers

The motherboard of a PC computer contains all of the connections to the internal elements of the system. Motherboards are directly connected to the processor, memory and hard drives of computers. Each motherboard model uses a different driver, which is installed on your computer in order to allow all components to work properly. You can identify the drive of your motherboard through the Windows operating system.

      Open the "Start" menu by clicking on the icon in the lower-left corner of the screen.

      Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and choose "Properties."

      Go to the "Hardware" tab and then click on the "Device Manager" button. A new window will open with a list of all the hardware currently connected to your computer.

      Expand the "System Devices" list and double-click on "Motherboard Resources."

      Go to the "Driver" tab and then click on the "Driver Details" button to view all information about your motherboard.
