Australian colleges and universities offer many study-abroad, certificate and degree programs for students around the world. While the student visa application process is moderately difficult, these online tools will allow you to complete and submit your student visa for Australia at your convenience. Once your application is in review, you can check the status over the weeks that follow.

    Know your student visa options. Common student visa options for entry into Australia include: English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS), Primary or secondary school course, Vocational education and training, or Higher Education. The course program will qualify the student for entry into Australia, however, proof of participation within the program is required to finalize the visa application.

  2. Step 2

    Apply for a student visa for Australia online. Visit the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship website to apply online. You can also check the status of the visa application or save an unfinished application for later revisions.

  3. Step 3

    Attach all documents including the Personal Particulars Form and Student Supplement Form as well as any other documents that are required. The Web system will instruct you to download the required forms. Additional health and financial declarations may be required.

  4. Step 4

    Contact an immigration office in your state. Contact information will vary, but an index is available on the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship website. Country and state immigration office information is available in alphabetical order.

  5. Step 5

    Check the status of your student visa. Use your username and password to check the status of your application online. For other concerns, contact an immigration office in your office.
