How to Start a Coupon Share Program for the Workplace

Frugal living has become quite the rage these days. For most of us, it is out of necessity, so it is back to basics and learning to do more with less. Coupons are a great way to save on everything. There are coupons for food, health and beauty items, electronics and restaurants. There are coupons in the newspaper, in magazines, from grocery stores as you check out and in fliers that you receive at home. Have you ever noticed how many coupons that you see are for items that you don't use? Maybe you don't use them but someone else might. So, why not start a coupon share program where you work?

Instructions

    • 1

Discuss your coupon share program idea with management. Explain how it will benefit the employees. Make sure that you have permission before beginning.

    • 2

Create your coupon share box. It can be as simple as a shoe box with the words "Coupon Share Box" written on it.

    • 3

Write category titles on your envelopes. For instance you may want coupon envelopes for restaurants, electronics, department stores, hardware stores, grocery, breakfast items, canned goods, frozen goods, etc. You may find that you will be adding categories as you go, so have some blank envelopes available for additional categories.

    • 4

Send an email to everyone, telling them about the coupon share program and where the coupon box will be located. Explain that everyone should bring in the coupons that they are not going to use to add to the box. Explain that they can take any coupons from the box. You will want to locate the box in a central location like the lunchroom. Make it a place where employees can browse through the coupons and add their own unused coupons to it when they are on their break time.

Dispose of any expired coupons. Also, replace any worn-out envelopes so that the box remains fresh and organized.
