Tired of looking at the same old stained tile on your bathroom or kitchen floor? It is time to do something about it. While this procedure is fairly easy to do if you are a handy person, the process can be very time-consuming. Here are some pointers to help with this home project.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hammer
  • Chisel
  • Gloves
  • Floor scraper or roofing shovel
  • Knee pads
  1. Step 1

Get on your knees with the hammer and chisel. Place the chisel on the grout in between the tiles, and then hammer around until the tiles start breaking loose.

  2. Step 2

Take the hammer and start pounding away on the tiles to break them into pieces. A sledge hammer is recommended for doing this step.

  3. Step 3

After the tiles are broken, slide a floor scraper under the pieces to release them from the concrete.

  4. Step 4

Scrape off the left over residue on the floor.

  5. Step 5

Clean and level the concrete floor for resurfacing.
