How to Become an Online Singing Sensation

Becoming a famous singer is a popular dream, but It takes skill, practice, determination and devotion to make it possible. Today the Internet can make anyone famous around the world in a matter of days. If you have a voice that is admired by many, this could be your calling.

Things You'll Need

• Video camera
• Computer with Internet
• CD player
• Instrument or beat-making program (optional)
• Sound equipment (optional)

Instructions

1. Choose a song that you can sing well, even without music.

2. Buy the CD for the song that you're going to sing if you are using music.

3. Practice singing this song two or three times a day to become familiar with the level and length of each note.

4. Prepare for your video. Dress in clothes that look good but are comfortable and fit your own personal style. Hang a backdrop, if you'd like, such as a plain white sheet or other background.

5. Record a video of yourself singing the song. If you are singing to music, play the music on a CD player in the background. Use audio recording equipment for better sound quality.

6. Upload the video to a website such as You Tube or Can I Sing? (see Resources).

7. To get people to view your video, comment on others' videos on these sites. Give feedback and constructive criticism.

8. Create a Myspace music page to promote your singing skills.

9. Update your videos often with new songs.

Get permission from the owner of the rights to a song before using it for commercial purposes. Write your own music and learn to play an instrument such as the guitar or piano. You can also use a beat-making program such as Fruity Loops. Try to be original. Do something that no other artist has yet done like putting your dog in the video with you or editing your music with a voice synthesizer.
