Things You'll Need:
- cardboard boxes, wrapping paper, scissors, tape or glue, optional: ribbons, buttons, sequins
-
Step 1
Gather up old cardboard boxes. You can use all different shapes and sizes. This is a great way to recycle and save money.
-
Step 2
Start saving old pieces of wrapping paper, or go to your local discount store and purchase wrapping paper. With so many designs and colors, you can easily coordinate the paper with your home decor.
-
Step 3
Cut out a square of wrapping paper slightly larger than your box. Wrap the box the same way you would a gift. I like to do all my taping or glueing of the paper on the inside of the box, that way you won't see any seams or tape.
-
Step 4
Embelish the box with ribbon, buttons, sequins, even fake flowers. The possibilities are endless! Not only are you helping the environment by recycling, you are adding a touch of personality and style to your storage!
-
Step 5
You can do this with any size box. Smaller boxes are great for organizing makeup, school/office supplies, and junk mail. I use medium sized boxes to organize my cleaning products. It is so much easier just to pull out a box than to have to knock over bottles looking for the product I want to use. Keep your shoe boxes and decorate them to add some flair to your closet. Large boxes are excellent for makeing bins to hold your recycleables. They are also great for storing blankets, clothing, toys, and books.
