Instructions

Keep the gypsy vibe. To get the full gypsy effect of your gypsy headband, wear it like a crown around the top of your head. Flatten the top of your hair by running your fingers near the scalp with a light hair wax. Make a severe part in the middle or side, pulling any bangs or front hair back. Wrap the band right above your eyebrows, above your ears and secure at the back of your head. Use bobby pins or tie it securely in place.

Adorn a hair bump. Hair bumps, or styles that feature a pouf of hair at the back of the crown, are becoming increasingly popular. Gypsy headbands work magic with this look. Style the hair into a hair bump, which can be done by securing a loose pony tail at the top back of the crown and folding the ends under and into place with bobby pins. Wrap the gypsy headband at the front base of the bump and around the back, either securing it under the back of the bump by tying or more bobby pins.

Wear as a traditional headband. If you love the gypsy headband's style but think wearing it in traditional gypsy fashion is too extreme, you can always wear it as you would a regular hair band. Comb any bangs forward and the rest of the hair back. Place the gypsy headband around your neck and gently pull it upward onto your head. Secure the front in place right behind your bangs or about an inch behind your front hairline. Keep the back secured at the nape of your neck with bobby pins or tying it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the rest of your outfit matches. Don't wear a gypsy headband with the gypsy vibe with a corporate suit.
