How to Draw Bed Framing
Drawing a bed frame is an important aspect of illustration to learn if you are going to specialize in interior design. Being able to draw a bed frame can also be important to general illustrators as well as cartoonists. Being able to draw everyday objects always makes your artwork better. This will allow you to get more progress done on your illustrations without having to take time out of drawing to look up reference photos online or in books and magazines. Drawing bed framing can be done with a few simple lines and shapes. For the example in this article, you will be drawing wooden bed framing with large posts on each corner.
Things You'll Need
- Paper
- Pencil
- Black ink pen
- Kneaded eraser
- Marker in brown, baby blue, red and dark blue

Draw a diagonal line that starts near the bottom left side of the page and heads toward the bottom right-hand corner. Attach a diagonal line to this that heads up towards the upper right-hand corner. Add a vertical line to the left end of the first line. Add a vertical line extending up from the corner where the two diagonal lines meet. Add a longer vertical line at the right end of the second diagonal line. Add a short vertical line in between the right a middle vertical lines. These vertical lines will act as the posts for the bed.

Tips & Warnings
You can use a ruler in Steps 1 and 2 to ensure that the guidelines are straight.
Be sure to place a piece of paper under your illustration to make sure that the ink doesn't bleed through.
