Draw a Brain Storm

Drawing a brainstorm can be helpful in any situation where you may have lots of things to remember or create. It can be as simple as what you need for a fruit salad or as complex as politics or business strategies. The concept of drawing a brainstorm is quite simple and very fast moving once it is started. You can apply this concept to anything.

Instructions

    • 1

Start with you general idea. It should be in the middle of the page. Be as general or specific as you'd like to start, but starting with a more general idea will make the process easier.

    • 2

Draw a circle around your main idea. This is to separate it from the rest of your brainstorm.

    • 3

Create a sub circle close to it and add one thing that you need for your main concept. Draw a line connecting the main to the sub concept. For example, for a fruit salad (main concept), you need fruit (subcategory).

    • 4

Think about more specific categories under the subcategory you created. For example, all the different fruits you can possibly use for a fruit salad are listed, circled, and connected to the fruit subcategory, which is connected to the main category, fruit salad.

    • 5

Create more subcategories, with even more specific categories to go with them. Once you are done, you have a very large pool of ideas based off of one idea. It should look similar to the example brainstorm.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't limit yourself even if you think one aspect of the main idea is insignificant. The purpose of the brainstorm is to bring out any and every aspect that you can. Use colors. It can be helpful to color code when your brainstorm starts to get really large.
