How to Access a Ymail Account

Ymail is part of Yahoo Mail. To provide users with more combinations for email addresses, Yahoo introduced another email extension called Ymail. Ymail addresses look like Yahoo addresses except they end with "@ymail.com" instead of "@yahoo.com." Ymail allows users whose desired email address was already taken to create their desired address and still have all the same features as Yahoo Mail. Accessing a Ymail account can be done from any computer connected to the Internet.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch a Web browser and navigate to Yahoo.com.

    • 2

Click the "Sign Up" link near the top of the page.

    • 3

Fill out the registration form. Fill in your name, gender, birth date, country and zip code.

    • 4

Type in a Yahoo ID and choose "ymail.com" in the drop-down next to it. Press "Check" to see if the email address is available. If it's not available, choose another address, but keep the "ymail.com" domain the same.

    • 5

Choose two security questions from the drop-down menus and provide the answers for both. These are used if you forget your password.

    • 6

Type in an alternate email address in the space provided. This address will be used by Yahoo to contact you should you forget your login credentials or if your account is somehow compromised.

    • 7

Type in the security code at the bottom of the screen and press "Create My Account."

    • 8

To log into your Ymail account, navigate to Yahoo.com and click on the "Mail" icon.

    • 9

Type your full email address in the YahooID box. Be sure to include the “@ymail.com” or the address will not be recognized. Using the full address distinguishes Ymail accounts from Yahoo or Rocketmail accounts.

    • 10

Type in your password and click "Sign In."
