How to Use the Safeway Online Employment Tool

Safeway Inc. is a Fortune 500 company, the third largest grocery store chain in the United States and the 10th largest retailer overall. As a result, it's also a sought-after employment by those looking for solid jobs with potential for upward mobility. The company makes it easy to apply for jobs there by providing an easy-to-use and easy-to-search online employment tool.

• Resume in .doc or other acceptable format
• Computer with Internet access

Instructions

1. Direct your browser to Safeway.com and scroll down to the bottom of the home page. Click on "careers" under the heading "company info."

2. Click on the area that you are interested in. The choices are store management, store positions and pharmacy careers.

3. Click on pharmacy careers, and you will be prompted to consider either pharmacy management positions or pharmacy tech positions. If you are looking for management positions, upload your resume and search for jobs based on your experience. A search for tech positions will send you directly to the online employment application.

4. Click on store management and you'll be given the opportunity to search for open jobs by using select keywords and indicating which of the Safeway companies you are interested in working for.

5. Click on store positions and you'll be taken to the online employment form. You are given 35 minutes to finish your online application. If you are idle for more than 5 minutes, you will be logged out and you'll have to log back in (with your Social Security number) to continue your application.

6. Be prepared to answer all the questions accurately. This isn't a pre-application you are filling out, but the actual Safeway application for employment. Accuracy and honesty are paramount.
